Can AOI detector detect materials other than PCB

As we all know, AOI detector equipment is mainly used to detect PCB printed circuit board, but in the work summary of Yier team, many customer service personnel have raised these questions about our AOI equipment. Can your AOI detector detect something? According to the practice of many enterprises, no matter whether they can do it or not, they should first come down and then talk about it - absolutely! This not only causes confusion to customers, but also brings unnecessary trouble. Yier team has a principle in providing answers to customers. If you can do it, you should. If you can't, you should tell the reason in detail and put forward some suggestions.
AOI equipment is a medium-sized optical detection instrument, which can be divided into on-line type and off-line type. The detector uses the principles of optical imaging and algorithm comparison, which is specially aimed at PCB process detection. According to this principle, many customers think that the equipment can detect more materials. In fact, it is feasible after practice, but it must be carried out on the basis of the working principle of the equipment Refitting, known as non-standard customization in the industry, that is, AOI detector separated from standard model structure and appearance. Of course, non-standard customization is not only used for materials other than PCB, however designed, the detection ability of PCB will not change.
Yier has exported an AOI non-standard equipment to South Africa to detect the ignition roller of flint lighter, and has also made an AOI non-standard equipment for detecting plastic screws, which is perfect and applicable. These are not related to PCB circuit boards, but the detection effect is not inferior to conventional detection. For this reason, a customer once asked us whether we could detect RMB. The customer was a RMB collector. He hoped to find the wrong version of RMB with difference through AOI detector. In this regard, we first consider whether or not from the legal point of view. If we leave aside the legal questions to answer, it is still not feasible. AOI detector can only detect the surface process, while watermark and lines will lack the detection ability. Therefore, Yier team can answer responsibly that AOI detector is mainly used to detect PCB printed circuit board, and other materials need to be adapted according to the actual situation.
Many customers will also confidently ask about the detection ability of AOI detector to detect bare PCB. In fact, although AOI detector is specialized in detecting PCB circuit board, it is not applicable to bare board and plug-in board. First of all, AOI detector is not only hardware, but also includes a set of powerful data analysis software (software of different manufacturers is different, pirated and cracked versions are common, but detection is done The software has built-in component data, but does not include non component data. Therefore, more technical support is needed for non components. As the bare PCB board is mainly composed of plane geometry, the software is difficult to lock the changes of geometry, so the technical support is also very weak. However, due to the influence of the height of components and the height and regularity of pins, the plug-in board is difficult to learn its changes and frequently misjudge, so it is not applicable.
Therefore, we can conclude as follows:
AOI detector can detect: PCB printed circuit board, regular materials
AOI detector can not detect: PCB plug-in board, PCB bare board, irregular materials, reflective materials

However, in any case, it is necessary to carry the material test. The optical detection principle of AOI detector itself gives the equipment flexibility. However, the hardware and software are biased towards PCB detection, which also limits the detection of other materials. What needs to be explained is that this cannot be both sides.
